Why Car Insurance Claim get Rejected

Buy Best Car Insurance Online

Owning a car is an expensive affair. Also, driving a car on Indian roads requires a mandatory third-party insurance. You must invest in a car insurance to protect yourself and the car against risks. The cost of repairing a car wreckage is high. Especially when compared to the cost of your insurance premium. You claim could be denied if you do not file the proper claim. Hence, you must know the claim-filing process inside-out. Any loophole in the insurance policy may act against you. Here are five reasons that lead to claim rejection:

1. Delayed Claim: You cannot and should not delay the submission of your claim after an accident. Try to intimate the car insurance company as soon as possible. If you file a claim a week later when you have gotten over the accident, you claim may still be rejected. Under no circumstances, should you repair your car before filing a claim for reimbursement? This will make it difficult for the insurer to trace the damage caused by the accident.

2. Uninsured Driver:You may sometimes lend your car to a friend or a relative. But this could land you in trouble if they meet with an accident. It is possible that your claim will be denied. You have to list the drivers who will drive the car when you purchase the policy. Only these drivers are covered under the insurance. Any incident that occurred under other drivers is not eligible for the claim. Hence, it is wise to carefully read the policy terms before allowing someone else to drive your car.

3. Invalid Driving License: Driving without a valid license? Your car insurance claim will be rejected. Pay special attention to the date of expiry of your license. If it is nearing, apply for renewal immediately. If your address or any other details have changed, get it revised. Your driver's license is one of the key documents to submit to the insurer along with the claim. If there is any discrepancy or if it has expired, you might have to say goodbye to your insurance claim.

4. Conflicting Usage: If you bought the car for personal use but used it for business, your claim may be rejected. When you buy a policy, you have to mention how you will use the insured vehicle. The insurer will only cover the mentioned. Hence, think it through when buying a policy.

5. Negligence: If the driver's negligence causes damage to the vehicle, then the insurance company could reject the claim. This includes driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, leaving the car unlocked with keys inside, etc.

These are some of the main reasons why insurance companies reject claims. You should understand the requirements for filing a claim by reading the policy document. Additionally, remember to pay your premiums on time. This will ensure that you and your car are always insured.

The funds that base their equity allocation on market valuation have given stable returns in the past. Pick these if you are a buy-and-forget investor. Small investors are often victims of greed and fear. When markets are rising, greed makes the small investor increase his exposure to stocks. And when stocks crash to low levels, fear makes him redeem his investments. But there are a few funds that avoid this risk by continuously changing the asset mix of their portfolios. Their allocation to equity is not based on the fund manager's outlook for the market, but on its valuations. Our top pick is the Franklin Templeton Dynamic PE Ratio Fund, a fund of funds that divides its corpus between two schemes from the same fund house-the...

However, the recent budget proposal by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has thrown a spanner in the works for gold fund investors. The revised tax structure for all non-equity funds, includi...
