Sundaram Mutual Fund has announced the launch of its 5th Capital Protection Fund - Sundaram Capital Protection Oriented 2Y Series 1. It is a closed ended Debt-oriented conservative scheme. Overall, it will be the 11th capital protection fund to be launched in this calendar year.
Investment Objective and Strategy:
The objective of this scheme would be to seek income and minimize risk of capital loss by investing in a portfolio of fixed income securities. The scheme may invest a part of the assets in equity to seek capital appreciation. So as per its objective, the fund would invest upto 90-100% in fixed income securities and 0-10% in equity and equity related instruments. The scheme will follow a passive investment strategy for fixed income component of the scheme and a Static Hedge approach.
Fund Manager: The debt portion and equity portion of the portfolio will be managed by Mr. Dwijendra Srivastava and Ms. Srividhya Rajesh, respectively. Mr. Dwijendra Srivastava is a Chartered Financial Analyst from CFA institute, America and has completed PG diploma in Finance. He has over 10 years of experience in Fund Management. Ms. Srividhya Rajesh holds CFA charter and a management graduate from BITS Pilani. She has been with Sundaram for 13 years.
Fund House: Sundaram Mutual Fund has been around for more than 14 years and its asset under management as on March 31, 2011 stands at around Rs. 14479 crore.
